GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The General Assembly is the supreme decision-making body. The General Assembly is responsible, in particular, for decisions about amendments to the statutes, electing the Board, its President and Vice-Presidents, approving the budget, the auditors' report, etc. The General Assembly is convened annually, traditionally on the last Thursday and Friday of May. Each year it takes place in another country, in the city of one member organisation that also takes part in the event. UGAL members had the occasion to meet in Helsinki, Munich, Vienna, Copenhagen, Montpellier, Barcelona or Bologna, to name but a few.
The General Assembly enables member organisations to meet, to exchange their points of views, to express their preoccupations and to try to find out how other countries or members could find a solution. These exchanges of experiences deal with topical subjects. European or national representatives are generally invited to participate in these debates in order to cast new light on the discussions.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Board has all the powers necessary to manage and administer the association, with the exception of those reserved for the General Assembly. The Board consists of a maximum of fourteen members and meets twice per year.
SECRETARIAT
The Secretary General manages the association and in accordance with UGAL statutes, he represents it before all international, Community or national institutions, administrations or associations. The current working languages of the Secretariat are English, French and German.
